For the last three years, we have kicked off the fall season by heading down to Destin, Florida for a long weekend. This year it was a little shorter because we couldn't take you out of school as long. This is my favorite trip we take every year. We borrowed a car to get down there that had a built in DVD player....wow, was that nice!! The adults loved the earphones, too!
Our first morning there, we go eat at the Donut Hole......of course, the Donuts are your favorites!!
After breakfast, we grab some groceries and then head to the beach for a few hours before rest time. That first sight of the beach always takes my breathe away!!
One of the things we just happened upon the first year we went was bike rentals. This is MY favorite thing we do all weekend. We take the bikes out for several hours, ride around the resort, stop to play on the playground and then get smoothies. Next year, Caitlyn, I bet you will be on your own bike!!!!
Naptime is always a little longer at the beach.................
Mimi and Papa go with us every year. They are so much fun to be with and of course, LOVE this time with you girls!
One night after dinner at one of our favorite spots, Mangoes at the Village Wharf, we heard music and went to check it out. The "Coconut Band" was playing on center stage. They were awesome and so much fun!! They even let all the kids on stage and gave them their own instruments to play. It took you both awhile to get the courage to go up, but once you did, you had a ball!!!
Caitlyn, since learning to swim this year, you LOVED the water. You only came out to pick up shells and build some things in the sand for a few minutes, then would head back in. The water is always just amazingly clear and beautiful.
Caroline, you are my sand girl. You don't care much for the water yet, and spent most all your time finding shells, washing them off and playing in the sand. 
Mimi and Papa loved watching, helping and soaking up the sounds and the sun!
On our last day there, we met a sweet family from Georgia who also had two girls and you all four played so well together.
The weekend always goes too fast and we are never ready to come home.

That just looks so pleasant and peaceful. We took the girls for the first time this year. They loved it! (who wouldn't?!)
What great memories!! We went to Santa Rosa Beach last year, just 15 miles East of Destin, and a little less touristy, and my boys STILL talk about it! How awesome that your girls have this to look forward to every year! I like the idea of bike riding as a fam! Great pictures!
