Adding to the threesome!

I just love this picture!!! I feel like it is such a good representation of the three of you when you are together. Happy and loving life. Sure, there is some fussing and fighting now and then, but when you get three princesses together--what do you expect!? So.........what about the dynamic of four princesses? Or three princesses and one prince? (Heaven help the little guy!)
Well......we will find out in December or January......when little Dominguez #2 makes his or her debut! Aunt Amy let us in on their little surprise recently and it is the "talk" of our house right now!!!!
So.........Amy, how big is your tummy today?!

Growing up

Being with you more often this summer has alllowed me to really see ways in which you two are growing up. Caitlyn, you especially are doing so many things that I used to think would be years away. Here are a few I have thought of lately:
1.) You are now answering the phone!!! No more screening calls (ha!). You love to run and get to the phone first. You answer by saying "HI! This is Caitlyn."
2.) You can jump rope and hula hoop---really well!!
3.) You can put your own hair in a pony tail.
4.) You no longer take naps.
5.) Your friends are becoming extremely important to you and ask to be with them EVERY day.
6.) You ask more and more "why" and "how" questions.
7.) You want to help cook.
8.) You can make your own bed and love to do so "just to make me happy".
9.) You are now rolling your eyes when I say something you don't like!
10.) You listen to my conversations ( even when I don't know it) and will very often repeat what I have said verbatim.

Just today, you came up with the idea to measure you and Caroline on the back of a door every so often so we can see how quickly you are growing. I love the way you think of new ideas and challenge me to celebrate each new day. I wish I could slow down the process, but at the same time, it is so exciting to see you changing and learning and becoming who God has created you to be!

A week of "firsts"

Last week was a week of "firsts" around the house. Caroline, you were old enough this summer to take a week of dance camp!!! You were sooo excited. During the school year every single week, we would get Caitlyn ready for her dance practice. You INSISTED that you, too, needed to wear a leotard and tutu--even though you weren't in a class. You would line up with Caitlyn's class and say "hi" to her teacher, then jump back out of line to hang out with me for the hour. Then, you were always the first to greet the class when they were done and say "goodbye" to "Miss" Krista. So.......when we walked up those stairs this last week, you were just beside yourself to ACTUALLY be going in class all by yourself. Caitlyn was the one to stay with me this time while we waited on you. Here you are in your outfit (which you slept in the night before!!!) ready to go. Standing in line, ready to learn, with your other classmates.

Caitlyn, your big "first" was finally going under water when you swim. You have been able to get around the pool without floaties, but you dogpaddled everywhere and would NOT go under. You somewhat panicked every time water got in your eyes. Like most other "firsts"in the past, you have had to be the one to decide when the time was right. One day this week, you just did it. You were sooooooo proud of yourself (and so were we) and have told just about every person we have seen or talked to that you are in fact "really" swimming. By the end of the week, you were already opening your eyes and swimming to the bottom to grab diving sticks!!! When you finally decide to do something, you do it all the way!

Here is my attempt at getting you in the act.

Happy Birthday, Mammie!!

We celebrated Mammie's birthday this week. We love getting together as family and honoring and celebrating the ones we love. Oh, how you love your "Mammie", girls. Caitlyn, you named her this very early in your life. Momma had chosen the name "Grammy" for all her grandchildren to call her, but you had a hard time with the "G" and so "Mammie" came out. It has been that ever since!Girls, you are so blessed with AMAZING grandparents. Daddy and I are so very thankful we are able to live close, so that you can know all four of them intimately. They are such wonderful examples of wise and godly people for you to look up to and learn from. WE are so excited when we get the opportunity to honor and celebrate their lives because they have meant so much to all of us.

The clan.......we love to eat, that is for sure!!!

Mammie has some great helpers!!!

Wise talk!?

Caitlyn, today when watching Caroline swim with floaties, you said, " Good practicing, Caroline. I used to swim like that when I was little." Momma got a good laugh out of that one!!!
